Fireworks Allowed in Flats Outside of Aransas Pass, East of Dale Miller Bridge

Posted: Updated:
ARANSAS PASS (Kiii News) - Fourth of July weekend is here, and as always fireworks are prohibited within city limits; but there is one spot that people are allowed to set off fireworks, according to the City of Aransas Pass.

Aransas Pass does not restrict popping fireworks on the flats located east of the Dale Miller Bridge along Highway 361, between the Aransas Pass mainland and the Port Aransas Ferry landing. However, the Aransas Pass Police Department asks that those celebrating with fireworks in that area please clean up after themselves.

Aransas Pass police say that every year, people celebrating the Fourth of July and other holidays celebrated with fireworks leave behind trash such as spent fireworks and beverage containers. To help deter littering, police will be in the area in marked and unmarked cars issuing citations to those leaving trash behind.

And of course, 3News wants to remind anyone celebrating with fireworks to take all necessary safety precautions.
