Two Women Arrested for Allegedly Vandalizing Ex-Husband's Truck, Assaulting Him

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) - Police were called out to an apartment complex in the 2200 block of North Padre Island Drive after a man called and reported that his ex-wife and one of her female relatives vandalized his truck and assaulted him just before 3 a.m. Friday.

According to police, the victim reported that he was sleeping and kept getting text messages from his ex-wife threatening to damage his truck. He went outside to check and found his ex-wife busting out his headlights and pounding on the hood of the truck with a tire iron. When he went to stop her an altercation unfolded between all three.

The victim sustained a small cut on his leg, a bruise on his face and other small scratches. Damage to his truck was estimated at about $2,000.

The ex-wife, 34-year old Janelle Salas, was arrested and charged with assault and criminal mischief. Her relative, 34-year old Consuelo Caceres, was also arrested and charged with assault.

Police also discovered that Salas had two outstanding warrants for her arrest.
