Sometimes people make mistakes I know I have and a officer let me go without casting any stones. People just need to mind thier own business and I'm sure the Sheriff is taking action. If he does take action it'll be kept private.

Come on people. Cops are human beings and do make mistakes as us mortals. Give the Deputy a brake and let us not crucify him/her. About 2,000 years ago, a great man said, "Let any among you that is without sin cast the first stone" Any questions?

I am not sure but I believe emergency vehicles are exempt from parking restrictions. Yes, he was not on an emergency call, but it is still an emergency vehicle, if you don't like it, then change the law.

I'm sorry but this was not a mistake. He backed up into the handicapped spot. There was no way he didn't see the sign. He blatantly disregarded it and should face just punishment.

Okay. If it's an emergency fine, but there's a fine line you don't cross. These spots are for the disabled only. I also wonder if they got a discount on their meals, some police complain demanding a discount.

The fact that this is an "emergency vehicle" is irrelevant, the deputy was not responding to an emergency, the officer was being lazy & unconsiderate to hanicapped individuals that actually need to park there. Shame on your duputy.

I know that if I were in trouble and that guy was called to my aid, I'd want him closer to the door to get in and get going than having to walk across a parking lot. Time is precious when it comes to emergency calls. They drop everything and go.

People parking in a handicap space without handicap plates is a huge pet peeve of mine. My daughter has CP and we NEED those spots, they are closer for her and wider so we have extra room to get her and her equipment out of the car.

I'm tired of cops thinking that they are above the law. This deputy needs to recieve a ticket. Additionally, the majority of "Nueces County's Finest" need to go on a diet. Parking in the closest spot to the door at The Chicken Shack is not helping.

We need to gather the facts. Maybe the establishment was closed, maybe no parking and they were there filing a report. Or maybe they were advertising jobs like CCPD and have their vehicles parked in unrestricted areas. INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY

Do cops give us a break when we violate laws. Hell no he should get a ticket just like everybody else. It wouldn't make a difference on him coming to your aid if he parked 2 lots down in case of emergency. If they are handicap they should be retired.

Really! That's a minor thing they did. Drive on IH-37 or H77 and you will see every law enforcement officer driving faster than 70 mphs without any emergency lites or sirens. Seems like they get extra priveledges when they have the badge and gun on.

Sometimes officers need to get to a call that does not require Light and Sirens but does require urgency that normal driving speed will not work. So they may drive a little faster and flip on lights to get thru an intersection rather than waiting.
