Robstown High School student Selina Arce, who is a member of the SkillsUSA Drafting Club, submitted an essay to the Iota Lambda Sigma Teacher Honor Society's writing contest. The ILS works in conjunction with the SkillsUSA State office to promote writing skills among the Career and Technology students of Texas. The awards are presented each year at the State SkillsUSA Skills & Leadership Contest, which was held in Corpus Christi this year, April 3-5. The topic of the the essay was how membership in the SkillsUSA organization benefits the student and the community. Selina won 3rd place, receiving a trophy and scholarship money. Her school and sponsor are very proud of her for the extra effort she put forward to enter this contest.
