We are from Corpus Christi and my family and I took a train ride from the Austin area to Burnet for my mother's birthday. We really wanted to see some wildflowers on our trip out there but, unfortunately, there really weren't any. So once we arrived in the little town we began to explore. To my nephews glee, we happened upon these giant bluebonnets! Thanks Burnet for making our day!!

It's a shame the wildflowers were so scarce this year. The show they put on last year was nothing short of spectacular! Truly breathtaking all over the county. Sadly, this year we were short on winter rain. Oh, well, maybe next year . . .

That is so funny....we took a train ride up to Burnet from Cedar Park this summer to attend RailFair and my kids took a picture in front of that very same Giant Bluebonnet!
