Channel: Weather

Location: Ben Bolt, Green Acres subdivision.

The drainage, or lack of, caused flooding in the Green Acres subdivision between Ben Bolt and Alice Friday, August 29, 2008. The majority of the drainage ditches are blocked or don't exsist anymore, and as a result, there is no place for the water to go. Our community received over 7 inches of rain in 2 hours. We hope our county commisioner will finally do something about the problem, and repair the ditches. We have called asking for caliche to raise the driveway, because of the lack of drainage, but were ignored. Seems like we are constantly ignored when there are problems here. The pictures were taken between county roads 467 and 468 right after the rain stopped. We were unable to take better photos, because we couldn't get some places that thatthe water was high.
