With the help of Katia Uriarte, Galvan Elementary held their Spelling Bee on Tuesday, February 3, 2009. 1st place winner was 11year old 5th grade student, Alvaro Gaona. Runner-up was 10 year old 5th grade student, Mariah Johnston. With encouraging words from school prinicipal, Mrs. Patti Heiland, the 14 contestants tried their very best in front of parents and students. Sponsor Sherry Jimenez worked diligently to ensure a great success! Galvan Explorers will lead the future.
