Monday morning at approx. 3 a.m. I heard an explosion followed by more loud noises. When I looked outside I saw flames and flashing lights. There was a fire in the lot across the street from our house. Fire crews were there working on the blaze, a neighbor told us the explosion was an abandoned vehicle and that police were looking for the men who left it there and torched it. The winds were causing the fire to spread rapidly and with the dry conditions we have had lately we were worried it would reach the houses. It took about 20 minutes for the fire dept to put out the fire, but we could still see the tires on the vehichle burning. It looked like a jeep cherokee. I'm thankful our fire dept was able to put out the blaze so quickly.
