On May 28, 2009, Higinio Garcia of Ben Bolt witnessed a 6 ft. alligator crossing County Road 448 in the Ben Bolt/Palito Blanco area. He captured the alligator because it was in a residential area and turned it over to the proper authorities. What an alligator of that size was doing there is a mystery to the residents in that areas.
