What I love about going camping is the peace and relaxation the whole family gets to experience that is sometimes hard to find in our hectic schedules during the school year. This summer, we took a trip to the Hill Country to one of our favorite camping spots. One component we love is of course the South Llano River. One day during a swim, the Texas State Insect, the Monarch Butterfly, unbeknown to my baby girl, landed on her visor and enjoyed her company for a long while. My girls enjoyed every minute in the river. They also enjoyed every other aspect of the trip from the meals we cooked and ate together, to sleeping outdoors beneath the captivating star-filled sky, to the hikes and late night country drives we took so they could get a glimpse of nature and the animals all around us including the deer, turkeys, armadillos, and jack rabbits (and not to mention the enormous wild pig that trudged slowly across the road, right in front of Daddy's truck). We had a terrific time and I'm sure we'll keep these memories with us for a long time to come
