Kingsville, Texas- Cadets from the Corpus Christi Comp Squadron's Kingsville Area Brahma Cadet Flight honored veterans this week as part of Kingsville, Texas' overall efforts in support of Veteran's Day 2009.
The overall effort began with a parade in historic downtown Kingsville on veteran's day proper. The Courthouse Square was alive with the sounds of two major bands, Texas A&M University and H.M. King High School, and the aire of the activity of an impressive amount of community organizations.
This was one of the largest Veteran's Day parades in recent memory having been held later in the day allowing those normally sequestered at in private employment to participate.
The Cadets fielded a Color Guard and members from its Alpha and Bravo Flights.
The festivities continued the next day where Brahma Flight Cadets honored veterans at neighboring Nick Harrell Elem. School. Here they posted the colors and offered support to the staff and faculty.
"Honoring those that served," said Major Joe Ely Carrales, unit Commander, is a key part of our service in the Civil Air Patrol. The cadets thoroughly enjoy this unique opportunity to honor those that help to make this nation free."
