Essential Workers: EMS Workers week wraps up

Christal Tressider explains the biggest challenge in this pandemic is the lack of data.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — We wrap up our essential workers week focused on EMS workers with another interview from HALO-Flight.

Christal Tressider explains the biggest challenge in this pandemic is the lack of data.

“When you think about the treatment for heart attacks, or taking an aspirin when you start having chest pains, those are things that have millions of pieces of data to prove that that’s a good thing to do. Well, COVID doesn’t," said Christal Tressider.

Let’s not forget that EMS workers are people with family and friends too, but Tressider urges the community to stay aware of social distancing for the long-haul, until we are through this.

“You know we want to go out with our friends too. We want to have a social life too, but we understand the gravity and consequences of our our actions because if we bring that back to HALO=Flight what does that mean for the other coworkers here,” said Christal Tressider.

Tressider tries and keep herself and her coworkers as safe as possible, as they are on the front lines braving through this pandemic, and she is proud of how they all have handled it.

“What I really take a lot of comfort in is that nobody is complaining. You know, it’s something that we signed up to do and we just really wanna be there for each other. So, you know we just zip up and go in," added Tressider.

We want to give thanks to all the EMS workers that spoke with us this week and we are we are so grateful for all the fine work that you all are doing.
