The Corpus Christi Police Department released some tips on how to stay safe this Halloween.

Some of the tips listed include staying in groups, wearing a mask, and staying on sidewalks.

The department also gives a warning for those who would rather "trick" than "treat" Halloween night.

"Remember that damaging a person's property can be considered 'Criminal Mischief'."

Robstown ISD Director of Health Services, Amy Whaley, says COVID-19 safety is also important this year. Whaley says if you're going to wear a mask to be safe be sure to wear it correctly.

“If you wear a Halloween mask, don't wear a Halloween mask over a cloth mask that can end up with some breathing trouble for children,” said Whaley.

If you plan on digging into Halloween candy on the same night, she says don't because the virus can cling on to different surfaces for up to three days.
