CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Aurora Arts Theatre would be celebrating 10 years of service, but instead they're trying to find ways to make ends meet and keep the theatre afloat.
Officials with Aurora said the coronavirus pandemic has caused a dent in their finances; they're at risk of closing their curtains for good.
The theatre stays busy by hosting curbside snack sales, selling t-shirts, hosting cinema nights and even setting up a GoFundMe page.
Even with all those fundraising events, keeping the lights on is still quite the task, so they're hosting a Rummage Sale this Saturday.
"Our Aurora family, as we like to call it, continues to grow. Every actor that graces this stage, is now a part of the Aurora family. Every patron that comes into our theatre, is part of the Aurora family. We're hoping that this is gonna be the sunshine at the end of the rainbow for us," said Christin Espinoza, a 10-year employee, and actress for the Aurora Arts Theatre.
