Experts say adding telecommuting skills to your resume is a must

So, what can they do to spice up their resume? And how can a remote working experience help?

Our Ashley Gonzalez joined us live with what employers are looking for during the hiring process.

"Taylor -- the reason is, experts say layoffs across the United States have made the competition in finding a new job tougher," said 3News reporter, Ashley Gonzalez.

And because of this, experts want to remind the Coastal Bend to update their resume with new skills needed when working from home.

For example, the ability to complete your work task from beginning to end remotely is a major skill that will benefit your resume.

CEO of a Recruiting Tool, LT Ladino Bryson says not everyone can work from home -- and those who can, consider it a new skill, and employers want to know and make sure you can achieve it.

"If you've had an opportunity to telecommute, you got to shout that off the rooftops because telecommuting is not easy. Some people are not disciplined enough to be able to be prepared and productive at the same time," stated Bryson.
