CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Texas State Aquarium's numbers are climbing back up since reopening two weeks ago. In that time, the aquarium has welcomed over 17,000 visitors.
During the same time last year, they counted nearly 30,000 guests. They did expect a decline with social distancing guidelines in place, but they were expecting a much bigger decrease from last year.
Phase three of Texas Governor Greg Abbott's plan to reopen Texas will allow the aquarium to open up to 50-percent and give them more flexibility with interactive exhibits and outdoor venues like Dolphin Bay.
