How the YWCA is educating people on continuous pay disparities between women and men

The YWCA said over a working lifetime, this wage disparity costs the average American woman and her family $700,000 to $2 million in lost wages.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Ladies, this one is for you! Learn to manage, control, and eliminate financial burdens with help of the Corpus Christi YWCA. 

The YWCA is hosting a presentation next Wednesday called Debt Elimination featuring guest speaker Mary Hime of CAPTRUST. 

Year-round, full-time working women in 2021 earned only 83.7 percent of the earnings of year-round, full-time working men and there is very slow progress in closing that pay gap.

The YWCA said over a working lifetime, this wage disparity costs the average American woman and her family $700,000 to $2 million in lost wages.

The presentation will provide women with tools to help them manage their finances and be more financially secure.

The presentation starts at 12:10 p.m. on Wednesday, March 15 at 4601 Corona Dr. 

Admission is free.
