NUECES COUNTY, Texas — As you know the coronavirus has put a serious dent in the economy with Texans out of work in record numbers; families are struggling financially. Here's some good news, help is out there for anyone impacted financially by the disease. We have some numbers that can help you.

The Texas Health and Human Services are encouraging the use of 2-1-1 a phone number designed to help citizens find helpful information about local community resources for financial assistance. Help with rent, utility bills, housing assistance, food pantries and much more. The line is answered 24 hours a day 7 days a week. 

In Nueces County several organizations are willing to help out with those in need, including the Coastal Bend Food Bank and the Salvation Army. Local churches are stepping up to help along with Catholic Charities and Metro Ministries. Assistance with credit counseling is also available.
