Over the past several month, Maria Martinez and a host of volunteers from Habitat for Humanity have been working to build Martinez a house, and on Friday their work was complete.

It was a big day not just for Martinez, but for Habitat for Humanity as well. Her new house is the third in Corpus Christi this year built by the charity, and the 46th house they have built since 1989 when the local chapter was founded.

Kiii News Reporter Brian Burns looked into it and came back with the details.

Also, Habitat for Humanity is not just looking for volunteers, but they can always use donations. To donate, volunteer or find out if you qualify for a new home, go to www.corpuschristihfh.com, or visit their Facebook page by clicking here.
