After beach goers reported seeing an abandoned Toyota Tundra stuck out in the water at J.P. Luby Surf Park since early Tuesday morning, some locals stepped up to try their hand at pulling it out.

The truck was stuck in the waters near mile marker 222, in between the Holiday Inn and Bob Hall Pier, with waves going up to its bumper. Beach goers said the truck had been there since 4 a.m., giving it plenty of time to sink firmly into the sand.

The truck showed signs of a fire in the interior of the truck, although it is unclear whether the fire was accidental or intentional. The truck's exterior showed no signs of fire damage.

People offered chains and ropes as one man attempted to pull the truck out of the water, but it wouldn't budge. Eventually, two members of a local social group called Good Ol' Boys Offroad showed up and, using both of their trucks and winches, they were able to pull the Tundra out of the water.

The founder of the Good Ol' Boys, Brandon Morrison, said "the fire looks fishy," but thanks to Morrison and Robert Garcia, that truck was safely pulled from the water.

As for the cause of the fire or the location of the Tundra's driver, Kiii News will keep you updated as more information becomes available.
