CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A Corpus Christi school is celebrating after winning a men's basketball state championship in San Antonio.
The Annapolis Christian Academy Warriors won the T-Cal 1-A State Championship Region 4.
The game was held last week at the University of the Incarnate Word campus. The Warriors played against East Texas Christian Academy and defeated Paris Trinity and Grayson Christian Academy before going to the finals.
"We were the underdog this year," Junior Jay Guzman said. "We lost players but we never gave up, we never just settle, and we always wanted to win state, and so we did that."
Annapolis Christian Academy's win is the first state title for the Warriors.
