CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — According to Beeville police, 44-year-old Jaime Lopez got into a fight outside of the Beeville Walmart on Thursday and later died from those wounds the following day.
Lopez's family said his passing was unexpected, but it may save the life of his mother, Alma Lopez.
She said she's in kidney failure and her son is an organ donor.
The family said as of right now the hospital is running tests to see if his kidney will be compatible for his mom.
“We're just keeping our fingers crossed hoping he's a match and if he's not then just help save somebody else's life,” Jennifer Selby, one of Lopez’s sister.
The family also said they just want justice for Lopez. They said they believe more people were involved with his death than the one person police have charged thus far.
