Big Bloom preps for big crowds; despite possible stormy conditions

Weather was not enough to keep fans away during 2018's Big Bloom and organizers are not worried this year.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Organizers say for just $1 you can shop and see the entire bloomin’ Botanical Gardens!  Dr. Michael Womach says "attendance has been as high as 6000 in the past so be sure to bring your own plant carrier."

According to the non-profit's news release: "Thousands of plants have been ordered from Texas wholesalers, plus orchids from Hawaii and Florida. Nueces Master Gardeners will be available for plant selection and care questions.  Texas Master Naturalists assist with trail tours and children’s activities.  Staging BIG BLOOM affordable family fun requires more than 100 volunteers!"

Expect to buy at their orchid sale, plumeria, roses, butterfly attractors, Xeriscape and native plants, other colorful, durable landscape choices, tropicals, herbs and more; plus specialty vendor and gift shop merchandise. There will be NavyArmy Community Credit Union Butterfly Releases; Whataburger Lady Bug Releases; Resident Reptile, and Parrot Talk shows at Flint Hills Resources Eco-Fun Stage; Touch-and-Learn projects and Easter Bunny Visits in H-E-B Kids Zone; nature trail walk-and-talks, Wetlands Boardwalk birding scopes, Monkey Mansion Tree House, inflatables.
