CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — UPDATE: The unidentified athlete had a sibling test positive for the virus late last week according to Superintendent Christina Gutierrez.
Ms.Gutierrez said in an interview today that the school district will continue to take the proper precautions, but that after cleaning the facilities workouts could possibly resume as early as next Monday.
"We are shutting it down for the week. we felt like we took all the proper precautions last week when we started with the workouts. We were sanitizing, we were bombing the facilities, we were wiping down all the equipment as guided by the UIL. Today we continued to do that and we're going to do it all week long. and hopefully next Monday on the 22nd we'll be able to return our students back." Said Superintendent Gutierrez.

Bishop CISD announced a student athlete at Bishop High School has been exposed to COVID-19.
