There were some tense moments for a business in the Port and Morgan area on Tuesday when a stack of tires and construction material caught fire outside of the facility.

Dense smoke could be seen from a long distance as firefighters worked to put out the flames, which started just after 1 p.m.

The main concern for firefighters was keeping the blaze from the nearby business, and fortunately, they were able to. Now the investigation begins into what may have sparked it.

"Had some maybe, comments that there may have been someone back there prior to the fire starting, but we can't confirm that," said Captain James Brown of the Corpus Christi Fire Department. "So we'll have an investigator looking into it and see what we can determine."

No one was hurt during the incident.
