Bowling enthusiast to build new bowling alley in Aransas Pass

The new alley will feature brand new machinery, and pro-style bowling lanes that will reportedly cost nearly one million dollars.

ARANSAS PASS, Texas — Serious bowlers will soon have a new place to hang out in Aransas Pass thanks to one local business man.

Chris Coulter, a bowling enthusiast who has competed in national competitions, has just taken over the old Sully Lanes Bowling Alley in Aransas Pass.

That bowling alley was forced to close last year due to major damage caused by Hurricane Harvey. Damage the previous owners say they could not recover from.

All that is left of the former bowling alley is a slab of concrete as Coulter works with the city to design the new facility. Coulter says the new alley will feature brand new machinery, and pro-style bowling lanes that will reportedly cost nearly one million dollars.

The city of Aransas Pass will have the final vote on design plans for the new facility. Coulter hopes to have work completed by December.
