City work crews spent Monday repairing several dozen broken water mains, and expect to stay busy for days to come. They had to repair 15 broken water mains on Saturday alone.
City officials say changing weather may be jeopardizing old city water pipes around Corpus Christi. That's exactly what happened the Greenwood location of the the Boys and Girls Club of Corpus Christi Monday. They were forced to shut down due to water outage caused when the pipes connecting their facility to city lines broke.
The Boys and Girls Club will remain closed through Tuesday as repairs are made, and hope to reopen at noon on Wednesday.
Club officials said they will have to pay for the repairs themselves, so they hope to get donations to help cover the costs.
