Buc Days not only raises scholarship money through its rodeo, parade and carnival, but the fairly new Buc Days Gospel Fest will also be giving back to the community.
The free event will be held from noon-6 p.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church downtown. Musicians and groups will be coming from across Texas to play in the lineup, performing anything from southern gospel to contemporary Christian music.
"And not only music, but its going to be uplifting, and people are really going to be encouraged," said Jill Bernhard of First Presbyterian Church. "these performers we have coming, I've heard a lot of them play their music. Not only are they great musicians, but they really share their heart for God."
Donations through offerings at Gospel Fest will go toward the Galvan Music Memorial Scholarship at Del Mar College. Last year's event raised $1,000.
