According to witnesses, a medical condition caused a driver to pass out and run off the road on SPID, flipping the vehicle.

A three-year old and a two-month old were inside of the sport utility vehicle when it happened. The three-year old suffered some minor injuries, but both were ultimately saved from serious injury because of their car seats.

"If you look on the other side of the vehicle, the damage is pretty extensive, and if they wouldn't have been in their car seats, the injuries would have been considerably worse," said Javier Cantu of the Corpus Christi Police Department. "If not possibly death."

The driver of the vehicle escaped without injury, and the three-year old was treated for some minor cuts from glass.

The accident is still under investigation, and a decision as to whether or not there will be any citations is pending. No other vehicles were involved.
