CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Corpus Christi International Airport is reaching out to travelers online with a new webtool that is supposed to show the true cost of travel. Anyone looking to fly out of Corpus Christi can compare rates from South Texas against the cost of flying out of bigger cities like San Antonio and Houston.
The tool appeared on the airport's social media sites in early July. Representatives with the airport say they are facing a lack of demand for flights out of Corpus Christi and that airlines want to add new services in the places where they can generate more revenue.
The ultimate goal of the site is to show travelers the true cost of traveling from a larger hub and emphasize the convenience of leaving from CCIA.
