An 18-year old male was arrested Tuesday thanks to an apartment complex resident who captured cell phone video of him allegedly breaking into an apartment on the property.

It was around 3 p.m. when officers were called to the complex in the 3100 block of Peachtree Street at 3 p.m. They found one of the windows to the apartment broken. The complex manager told police that a lady who lived nearby had captured video of the break in as it happened. After viewing it, the manager was able to identify the suspect as 18-year old Emanuel Valadez, a resident at the apartment complex.

Valadez was not home when police arrived at his apartment, but his mother told them that he was at the Pizza Hut on Leopard Street. Police found him there and arrested him for burglary of a habitation.

The woman living in the apartment that was broken into was not sure what was stolen, but it is estimated that the broken window would cost about $200 to fix.
