CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Some people from the Coastal Bend took a trip to the 'Upside Down' on Saturday.

The event was inspired by the hit Netflix series 'Stranger Things.'

Fans were encouraged to dress like their favorite character or in traditional 1980's outfits. A costume contest was held in addition to trivia, games and crafts.

"It's one of the many things that the library offers, one of the many resources in addition to books, electronic material, we host this what we call events, a lot of people nowadays are looking for events or experiences, and this is like a unique experience," Patricia Herrera with La Retama Library said.

Secret labs, demagorgons and mind flayers were also a part of the fun event.
