Gunfight at southside business sends two to the hospital

At last report, police said the store owner was in critical but stable condition.

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) — Two men were hospitalized Friday after gunshots were exchanged at a business in Corpus Christi's southside.

According to police, two men wearing ski masks walked into a watch repair shop at around 1:50 p.m. in the 5500 block of Bonner, near South Staples Street, and attempted to rob the owner. Shots were exchanged during their confrontation and the owner and one of the men were both hit. Both were hospitalized.

At last report, police said the store owner was in critical but stable condition. Police are still searching for one of the robbery suspects.
