Authorities have arrested a 26-year-old man in connection with the suspicious death of a 24-year-old female in Corpus Christi.

According to police, Corpus Christi Police Department officers were called to Christus Spohn Hospital South back on Thursday, Feb. 1, in reference to a deceased 24-year-old female who had bruising to her body. Officers made contact with the suspect at the time and he was interviewed and released.

Detectives later received an autopsy report and determined they had enough probable cause to get a murder warrant.

On Sunday, Feb. 4, authorities in San Patricio County arrested 26-year-old Steven Urias for murder and transported him to the San Patricio County Jail.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and no further information is available at this time.
