CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Corpus Christi police investigating a kidnapping near the intersection of Ayers and Gollihar have taken at least one suspect into custody.
It happened just after 7:30 a.m. Friday after police said the suspect stole a vehicle that had several children inside.
The SUV was stolen from a store at the intersection of Ayers and Gollihar. Police said the suspect ditched the vehicle a few blocks down Ayers, near Mansheim.
Officers spotted the suspect but lost sight of him after he began jumping over fences in the neighborhood. The suspect was found about 30 minutes later by officers searching the area.
The suspect is expected to be arrested and charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and kidnapping.
