Two men have been arrested and one woman is in serious condition following a shooting Wednesday night at the Dolphin's Landing Apartments on Weber Road near Saratoga Boulevard.
17-year-old Ricardo Martinez and 21-year-old Justin Arredondo were arrested for their part in a robbery that resulted in the shooting of a 20-year-old woman.
Neither suspect has been charged with the actual shooting, however.
The woman was shot in the head during the incident and was rushed to Christus Spohn Shoreline Hospital.
It was just after 9:45 p.m. Wednesday when the Corpus Christi Police Department received a call about a robbery at the apartment complex. While en route to the scene, a second call came in stating a woman had been shot.
Police said once the robbery happened, a vehicle took off from the apartments and someone fired at it, hitting a 20-year-old woman inside.
"You just heard five shots. The first two were real slow and the other three were rapid and then everyone started coming outside," resident Robert Flores said. "We waited 10 minutes."
At the scene, there were several visible bullet holes.
"You know we have a kid right here too. It's dangerous for someone to just shoot at an apartment complex," Flores said. "You never know if it hit someone inside the house or something like that."
Even though police have arrested two suspects, they have not said whether they are looking for more potential suspects. So far no one has been charged for the shooting, but the investigation is ongoing.
