Duval County deputies seized almost 500 pounds of marijuana Wednesday morning after being led on a high speed chase down FM 1329.

It was around 6:30 a.m. when the deputies attempted to pull over a blue Chevy Silverado for speeding. The driver refused to stop, leading the deputies on a high-speed chase until it struck a fence on FM1329, north of County Road 223.

When the vehicle came to stop, eight-10 individuals exited the vehicle and ran into a wooded area.

Deputies noticed the strong smell of marijuana as they approached the bed of the truck. Inside, they found eight bundles of marijuana totaling 496.5 pounds, with an estimated street value of $422,025.
