A 19-year old woman was taken to the hospital with minor injuries Monday morning after she was struck by a vehicle on the sidewalk of Weber, near Marion.

It was just after 9:30 a.m. when the young woman stopped on the sidewalk to work on her bicycle. According to police, the 35-year old driver of a sedan somehow became distracted and jumped the curb, striking the young woman. The driver quickly turned on Marion and stopped, returning to the scene of the accident.

The 19-year old female was transported to Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. The 35-year old driver received a citation for not having a driver's license or insurance, and his vehicle was impounded.
