The President of the Corpus Christi Firefighters Association has confirmed to 3news that a counter claim has been filed against the City in their legal battle that led to the suspension of contract talks with the city.

Association President Carlos Torres says their attorney filed a claim for dismissal of the City's lawsuit. That suit claims the Firefighters Association's public education campaign entitled "become A Hero" was actually aimed at trying to influence contract talks in public. The Association's attorney filed a counter claim that the city was the one violating collective bargaining rules by walking away from contract talks.
