3D technology is everywhere, from movie theaters to phones, and now it turns out the technology is being used to save lives.
A new 3D mammogram is now in operation at Radiology Associates, located in the 5400 block of Spohn Drive, near Christus Spohn South. Health experts say the technology makes it easier for them to detect cancer before it spreads. In fact, the device can detect cancer cells 27-percent more accurately than other mammograms.
Folks at Radiology Associates said it is the first 3D mammogram machine in South Texas.
