Flour Bluff students received some hands-on experience with a new, state-of-the-art robotic surgery device at the Flour Bluff Intermediate School Tuesday.

Representatives from Bay Area Medical Center hosted an event for the students there, and many were surprised at the opportunity to actually take control of a surgical training robot.

The robot is part of the Da Vinci Robotic Surgical Program, the most technologically advanced program in the Coastal Bend.
