Corpus Christi (Kiii Sports)- Friday Night Sports Blitz Part III

The Ray Texans upped their record to 5-1 this season with an impressive District 31-4A win over visiting Alice. After going 2-8 last year with one of the youngest lineups in South Texas, the Texans appear on track for a first-place showdown with Flour Bluff later this month. As it stands, Ray can clinch a playoff spot with a win next week at Laredo Martin.

Robstown and West Oso kicked off their District 30-3A schedules with an unusual game at West Oso. The Bears rolled up a 20-7 lead by halftime, only to struggle to hang on at home and just barely beat Robstown 27-21.

The Odem Owls served notice they could be a force in District 16-2A-DI with a lopsided 34-7 win over visiting Falfurrias. The Jerseys' loss was their second road setback of the season- and their second district loss.

The Calallen Wildcats served as our "Blitz Band of the Week" on Friday night. Their solid halftime show served as the soundtrack to our Marching Scoreboard.
