CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii Sports) - The Carroll Tigers are used to hard-nosed football and playoff runs. That's why last year's 1-9 season seems like an anomaly.

Carroll came close to a winless season before winning the final game of the year at South San. The Tigers have several returning starters in the offensive backfield that they hope will turn things around in District 28-5A.

Perennial state-power Cibolo Steele is expected to once again rest atop the district, but the Tigers hope they can steal a playoff spot from rival King or one of the San Antonio schools.
