CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii Sports) - Week 2 of the high school football season featured several big rivalry games.

Calallen and Flour Bluff brought unbeaten records into their big showdown tonight in the Bluff. The Hornets became the first team this season to score on the Calallen defense, but in the end the Wildcats picked up a big 49-28 road win.

The annual "Battle of the Bridge" between Carroll and Gregory-Portland took place tonight at Buc Stadium. This game turned on a key defensive play as Carroll's Justin Hatfield picked up a G-P fumble and returned it 94 yards for a Carroll touchdown. The Tigers never looked back as they swept past the G-P Wildcats by a 38-14 margin.
