A driver from Tino's Wrecker Service out of Sandia, Texas, had to be extricated from his vehicle using the jaws of life after crashing into a tree on FM 534 Thursday morning.
It was around 8:15 a.m. when the driver veered off the road on FM 534 at County Road 359, between Sandia and Orange Grove, crashing into an oak tree before coming to a stop. After first responders extricated him from the vehicle, HALO Flight was called out to transport him to a hospital.
The driver's condition is unknown at this time.
It is unclear what caused the driver to veer off-road. Authorities said it did not appear as though he applied the brakes.
