It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas out on the Corpus Christi Bayfront as the 31st annual Harbor Lights Festival lit up the night sky. Mayor Nelda Martinez flipped the switch last night to illuminate the 75-foot Christmas tree. Thousands of lights and live music dazzled the crowd. The annual event attracts as many as 30 thousand people to the downtown area. Our own Joe Gazin was the host of the event. Maria Pedraza President of the Harbor Lights Festival said, "It's wonderful! One reason is that it's a family event. You can bring chairs and blankets, hang around the entire day and thru the evening." In addition to the Christmas tree lighting, there was also a parade with Santa, live entertainment and a gingerbread village.
