The fate of new City Attorney Roxann Pais Cotroneo, who has been under investigation following allegations of inappropriate comments, could be decided as early as Friday.

Cotroneo was supposed to begin her duties as city attorney back on Feb. 3, but after someone sent an anonymous email detailing inappropriate comments she allegedly made during a meeting with her new staff, her start date was put on hold to allow for a full investigation.

City Manager Ron Olson began looking into the issue, but some questioned whether or not he should be the one looking into the matter. So he turned the investigation over to the Corpus Christi Police Department.

"My plans, as I've mentioned, was for that to be done actually by tomorrow," CCPD Chief Floyd Simpson said. "My people are wrapping it up. We've interviewed several people and we'll be wrapping it up and handing over our findings really quick."

Olson will have that report in his hands on Friday. 3News will let you know the latest on those findings when they are made available to us.
