Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi students may seem some much needed relief soon, when it comes to parking on campus.
"Beginning Monday, Sept. 16 from 7:30 a.m.-1 p.m., every 10 minutes a Corpus Christi-RTA shuttle will move students from the Momentum campus to the main campus," said Jane Haas of the Regional Transportation Authority. "In the afternoon, from 1 p.m.-6 p.m., we are going have service every 20 minutes from Momentum to main campus. Straight to class, on time."
It's being called the Islander Shuttle, where all students, staff and faculty are welcomed. You just need your SandDollars ID to get on and ride free of charge.
Plus, the Momentum campus parking lot will have surveillance monitors for security.
"I think it's a great opportunity for those who struggle finding their parking spots, that have been arriving for their classes really late," TAMUCC student Karina Gomez said.
"I think it's a great idea, actually. It is additional parking, and some people will use it for their advantage and the shuttle will help them out," TAMUCC student Matthew Charles said.
The Momentum campus parking lot will add an additional 350 parking spaces to the college campus.
