Islanders Men's basketball falls to Lamar

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's basketball dropped it's Southland Conference game with Lamar 63-58.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Story Headlines 
- The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi men's basketball team fell to Lamar University, 63-58, on Saturday afternoon at the American Bank Center.
- The Islanders fall to 11-16 overall and 6-8 in Southland action. The Cardinals improved to 16-12 overall and 9-6 in league play.
- Emmanuel Toney hit three three-pointers and finished with a team-high 17 points on 5-of-10 shooting. He was a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line and added three assists and a steal.
- Trailing by 11 with 1:14 to play, A&M-Corpus Christi went on a quick 8-0 run to pull to within three with 31 seconds to play. But Lamar hit four free throws down the stretch to hold on for the victory.

- The Islanders shot 43.2 percent from the field (19-for-44) and hit 14-of-19 attempts at the free throw line (73.7 percent).
- Texas A&M-Corpus Christi held a 20-16 advantage in points in the paint and tied the Cardinals in rebounding at 30-30.
