Kiii Meteorologist Alan Holt spent some time Friday teaching kids at Kostoryz Elementary about the science of weather.
It was all part of Science Spectacular Day at the school. The kids were fascinated as Alan explained how lightning made thunder, but there were many other things students examined during this special day.
"We learned about pollution, the planet and weather," third grader Ariana Ybarra said.
"Today we're learning about science, and today we're going to be a superhero. Super scientist," third grader Josette Soliz said. "I liked it because I didn't know there was different types of clouds. I mean, I knew that, but I didn't know what, like, they did."
Other topics covered water conservation and where our area gets its water from.
